'Smoking Gun' Proves Rick Ross Was an Officer

According to records released by TheSmokingGun.com, rapper Rick Ross was, in fact, a correction officer years ago. Last week the Miami-based rapper denied having a past in law enforcement and claimed that a picture that showed him in uniform.

"My life is 100% real. These online hackers putting a picture of my face when I was a teenager in high school on other peoples' body." Ross said in a statement to AllHipHop. "If this s**t was real don't you think they would have more specifics, like dates and everything?”

Now someone reportedly has dates. According to the records, a William Roberts (the rapper's real name) graduated from the Florida Department of Corrections (DoC) training academy and was appointed a prison guard in December of 1995 at the age of 19. Records say that Roberts, whose social security number matches that of Rick Ross, left the job after two years.

The 32-year-old rapper even went on film to dismiss the accusations about his past, which seem to fly in the face of his current style of gritty, street lyrics. Click here to see Rick's video response the fellow Miami rapper Trick Daddy's assertion that Ross was, in fact, a cop.
